Overview: The Director, Program Management Office (PMO) leads development and standardization of the project and program management framework for large-scale partner implementations and owns tactical portfolio execution, with a strong emphasis on delivering exceptional client onboarding and implementation success. Reporting to the COO, the ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic environment, demonstrating agility and resilience while effectively engaging with executive stakeholders. This is an exciting opportunity to analyze processes for improvement, elevate project delivery standards, and ensure alignment with our strategic growth objectives. Success in this role requires fluency in moving between strategic leadership and hands-on tactical oversight and organization of day-to-day projects. Key Responsibilities: Strategic PMO Leadership: Design, document, and operationalize PMO frameworks, methodologies, templates, and acceptance criteria for partner implementations. Standardize cross-team intake, handoff, and escalation processes to ensure repeatability and quality across onboarding lifecycles. Lead the strategic prioritization and centralized resource allocation across the entire portfolio of all onboarding and implementation projects/programs, ensuring efficient and effective utilization of company resources. Serve as primary PMO liaison to Distribution, Client Experience, Product, Finance, and Legal stakeholders. Program Operations and Continuous Improvement: Establish operating models and implementation focused playbooks for complex partner implementations enabling the organization to scale by codifying best practices. Provide strategic governance for large, cross-team partner implementations and, when required, directly lead strategic programs, as assigned -establishing governance, orchestrating cross-functional delivery, and ensuring alignment with PMO standards. Drive the optimization and standardization of onboarding processes across the full implementation lifecycle, from initial client intake through successful go-live and transition to ongoing support. Oversee the development and execute implementation of nuanced processes and specialized tools required to support complex or strategic partner implementations that integrate seamlessly with the overall PMO framework. Champion a culture of continuous improvement, actively seeking and implementing opportunities to enhance efficiency, quality, and scalability. Own selection, integration, and governance of PM systems (Smartsheet, Jira, CRM) as source of truth for portfolio reporting. Ensure data integrity and robust reporting capabilities within chosen tools to provide accurate and actionable insights for portfolio-level visibility and decision-making. Team Leadership, Development & Capacity Planning: Build, lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing PMO team, including Implementation Project Managers, Program Managers, and other PMO staff. Foster a professional growth environment, providing mentorship, training, and career development opportunities for all team members. Own PMO budget, headcount planning, and centralized resource allocation Executive Reporting & Strategic Stakeholder Management: Deliver monthly portfolio health to COO and other Executive leaders, including trends, risks, mitigation plans, and KPI scorecard. Cultivate strong strategic relationships with key internal and external stakeholders (Sales, Client Experience, Finance, Legal, Executive Leadership, and others) to ensure alignment, effective communication, and collaborative problem-solving on high-impact initiatives. Navigate stakeholders at all levels with confidence and professionalism, aligning diverse perspectives, managing competing priorities, and constructively challenging assumptions to drive clarity, accountability, and results. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Computer Science, or a related field. Master's degree preferred. 10+ years in project/program management, including 2+ years in senior PMO or portfolio leadership in SaaS/tech. Proven track record defining and deploying project methodologies, processes, and tools. Experienced managing and optimizing complex, client-facing implementation portfolios. Proficient with enterprise PM/reporting tools (e.g., Smartsheet, Jira, CRM integrations, dashboards). Strong leader with experience building and developing high-performing PM teams. Strategic thinker with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, turning challenges into action. Excellent written/verbal communication, negotiation, and executive stakeholder influence. Knowledgeable in change management and leading process/technology adoption. Experience in healthcare IT, benefits consulting, insurance, or data analytics preferred. Proven ability to perform in high-growth, ambiguous environments and deliver amid shifting priorities.
