This role involves handling surgical specimens primarily from the University Hospital OR, with a focus on accurate gross examination and documentation. The majority of cases are benign lesions (approximately 95%), along with occasional complex specimens such as colon cancer resections and native liver cases. The PA will also assist with research-related tissue procurement and may support additional lab workloads as needed. Key Responsibilities: Perform gross examination and dissection of surgical specimens Handle primarily benign cases, with some exposure to cancer resections Assist in procurement of tissue samples for research purposes Select tissue from products of conception (POCs) for karyotyping Perform biopsy grossing as required based on staffing needs Support workload overflow from other labs when necessary Ensure accurate documentation and compliance with lab protocols  About Talent4Health A leader and innovator, offering comprehensive talent solutions for the healthcare industry across the nation.
