Purpose of Role We are looking for a proactive and driven Senior Data Governance Specialist to lead our data management and quality initiatives. In this vital role, you will be part of a results-focused team, tasked with developing and implementing our data governance program to enhance decision-making capabilities. You will collaborate with both functional and technical leaders and users to ensure excellence in data quality and governance practices. Your Impact Manage the complete data quality lifecycle, identifying issues, calculating the costs of poor quality, creating and validating rules, and conducting root cause analyses. Ensure swift and effective resolution of data quality challenges through collaboration and proactive escalation management. Lead complex projects designed to enhance data quality, governance maturity, and stakeholder engagement. Regularly monitor and report on critical data quality metrics and governance KPIs to foster continuous improvement. Assist in the deployment and upkeep of enterprise data catalog solutions, maintaining accurate and accessible metadata. Facilitate and lead data governance community forums to drive collaboration and knowledge sharing. Collaborate with data owners and technical teams to define best practices for data governance across assigned domains. Help develop and refine data governance policies, standards, and procedures aligned with our organizational objectives. Create and maintain essential documentation, including SOPs, work instructions, data flow diagrams, and metadata definitions. Perform some maintenance of master records as necessary. Undertake additional duties related to data governance and quality as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in data quality, governance, or analytics, or a Master’s degree with 3 years of experience, or 9 years of relevant work experience without a degree. Proven success in leading cross-functional teams, particularly in matrixed or diverse data environments. Strong communicator capable of articulating the strategic advantages of data integrity and governance to both technical and business stakeholders. Advanced SQL skills and experience working with large, intricate datasets. Ability to design and implement dashboards and KPIs for tracking data quality. Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills, with a talent for adapting messages for various audiences. A pragmatic, analytical problem-solver with a focus on solutions. A self-driven leader who thrives in fast-paced environments and works independently. Relocation No relocation provided Base Compensation $80,628.80 - $100,786.00 USD Most new hires start within this range, with opportunities for growth over time.
