Join Our Family at Highway Transport! As a Fleet Operations Manager, you will oversee and support our dedicated team of drivers while maintaining key relationships with contractors. Your proactive approach will ensure that both drivers' needs and company goals align perfectly, focusing on safety, training, performance metrics, maintenance, and pay. You'll be an essential point of contact for our drivers through various communication channels, enabling a supportive work environment. Key Responsibilities: Act as the main communication link for driver management. Conduct interviews with drivers to ensure mutual understanding of job expectations. Maintain regular communications to fulfill drivers' expectations and needs. Review and approve driver pay for accuracy. Ensure compliance with driver pay thresholds. Discuss safety analytics with each driver to encourage a safe working environment. Manage the timely Transflo scanning processes. Keep track of driver training certificates and expiration dates. Oversee the onboarding checklist and on-the-job training for drivers. Conduct regular performance reviews for all drivers. Strive to maintain an optimal driver turnover ratio. Work towards meeting or exceeding budgeted driver counts. Ensure driver profiles and schedules are accurate and up-to-date. Report on employee feedback and survey results. Collaborate with HR and safety managers on corrective actions and compliance issues. Handle additional responsibilities as assigned by management. Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree preferred, with a high school diploma or equivalent required. At least 2 years of experience in personnel management preferred. Experience in bulk transportation is a plus. Skills You'll Need: Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills. Management experience is preferred. Excellent time management and organizational capabilities. Ability to exercise independent judgment and decisiveness. Experience in directing and managing both employees and contractors. Familiarity with the company's policies and procedures. Knowledge of Federal DOT, OSHA, and EPA regulations. Ability to work under various interruptions and deadlines. Effective interaction skills with internal and external customers. Work Environment: This position is primarily based at our service center, including both office and yard locations. Flexibility in scheduled hours and days is required, including the possibility of weekend work and availability during non-business hours. Occasional travel to other service centers may be required.
