In this pivotal role, you will steer procurement activities that are essential for securing goods and services that align with our quality standards, cost efficiency, and delivery timelines. This is an opportunity to apply your negotiation skills and industry insights within a company dedicated to making a significant impact in healthcare. This position will be based at our Durham, North Carolina office, where you can benefit from a flexible working arrangement. You will be expected to work on-site for a minimum of 60% of your workweek, with a schedule that can be adjusted to meet business needs. Key Responsibilities: Collaborate with internal teams to understand their procurement needs and align sourcing strategies with business goals. Lead strategic sourcing for materials, equipment, and services to achieve optimal outcomes in cost, quality, and delivery. Manage Source-to-Pay processes in our ERP system, which includes processing purchase requests, overseeing invoices, and creating new supplier accounts. Conduct negotiations, develop contracts, and establish pricing agreements in compliance with organizational standards. Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure service quality and explore improvement opportunities. Resolve supplier and contractual issues with effective solutions. Contribute to category strategy development and process enhancements to improve procurement efficiency. Create reports and analyses to support informed procurement decisions. Mentor junior team members to enhance their skills and ensure consistency in procurement practices. Adhere to corporate policies and ethical standards in all procurement activities. We are seeking candidates who meet the following qualifications: Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field. A minimum of 5 years of procurement experience; or a Master’s degree with 2+ years of relevant experience. Proven success in supplier negotiation and relationship management. Expertise in ERP systems and procurement processes. Preferred Qualifications: A strong attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively. Excellent communication skills, enhancing teamwork and influencing others. A collaborative spirit with the ability to develop strategies within a growing organization. Experience in complex negotiations and problem-solving. A proven analytical capability to assess supplier proposals and market trends. A willingness to mentor and develop less experienced team members. A proactive approach with a strong sense of urgency. Knowledge of regulatory standards relevant to the healthcare industry, including GMP systems. Experience with platforms like Coupa or Netsuite is a plus. Working Environment: This role primarily operates in an office environment with frequent use of procurement systems. Some occasional travel (5-10%) for supplier interactions may be required. The workload may increase during significant sourcing initiatives or fiscal year-end periods. Interactions with suppliers and senior internal stakeholders are regular. Capability to stand or sit for extended periods is necessary, as well as occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds. The expected annual base salary for this position ranges from $94K to $125K, dependent on skills, experience, and location.
