BSA Investigator

Job Description Miami, FL Hybrid Full-Time Avantis Resources is hiring a BSA Investigator on behalf of a leading financial institution with international reach. We're looking for an experienced compliance professional to conduct in-depth investigations and ensure strict adherence to BSA/AML regulations. Key Responsibilities: Manage a caseload of investigations and/or high-risk account reviews (EDD/HRA-EDD). Analyze transaction monitoring cases, internal referrals, and government subpoenas (e.g., 314(a)). Research customer activity using internal systems, external databases, and open-source tools. Draft Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) with recommendations on account retention or termination. Document findings and compile case files with supporting documentation. Maintain detailed case notes within the Case Management System. Coordinate with compliance, legal, business units, and law enforcement agencies as needed. Provide input on case escalations and compliance risks to senior management. Mentor junior team members and contribute to internal knowledge sharing. Participate in external BSA/AML/OFAC training sessions as assigned. Requirements What We're Looking For: Minimum 5 years of experience in BSA/AML investigations or monitoring within the banking industry. High school diploma required; relevant certifications or additional training a plus. ACAMS or equivalent AML certification preferred. Bilingual in English and Spanish (required). Strong knowledge of federal and state BSA/AML compliance regulations. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. High attention to detail and organizational abilities. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and case management systems. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
