Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Special Procedures Technologist Discipline: Allied Health Professional Start Date: 03/02/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 40 hours per week Shift: 8 hours Employment Type: Travel Opportunity:SMH IR Rad Tech - SMH Job Details:• Work 5 eight-hour day shifts• On-call, callback, and holiday coverage per unit needs• 6-month contract assignments will be considered• Select appropriate exposure factors and positioning to produce diagnostic quality radiologic images• Instruct and prepare patients for examinations and assist radiologist during procedures• Operate all interventional radiology equipment competently and report malfunctions to management• Complete all assigned procedures in a timely manner• Assist with room turnover between procedures• Maintain medication security to authorized personnel only• Provide healthcare services competently to all age groups• Use Hospital Information System (HIS), Radiology Information System (RIS) and PACS• Answer technical telephone inquiries from physicians and hospital personnel• Maintain patient confidentiality using individual password and patient care modules• Required certifications: BLS (American Heart Association ONLY), NYS License (or able to obtain prior to start)• Two years of experience required• VIR Certified preferred• Must demonstrate competency in interventional radiology procedures Facility:This major academic medical center operates a comprehensive interventional radiology department providing advanced diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
