Engage collaboratively with physical therapy, occupational therapy, nursing, medical staff, caregivers, and families to foster an integrated care approach. Educate patients and their families on techniques and strategies to aid progress outside of scheduled appointments. Provide inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions as needed, ensuring comprehensive care continuity. Maintain precise and timely documentation to meet state, federal, and organizational regulations. Continuously enhance clinical knowledge and skills through ongoing education and collaboration with peers. Educational Requirements A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution. Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification is still pending. Certifications Needed Licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist in the state of California. Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification to be obtained within 30 days of hire.
