Job Details POSITION SUMMARY - Intake Therapist POSITION DUTIES - Responsible to provide a "welcoming" experience and conduct thorough and comprehensive assessments with adult, adolescent and children mental health consumers in an effort to determine service eligibility and accurately identify service needs and preferences Maintain an acute awareness of all agency services, therapeutic activities and supports that may be of benefit to individual consumers and their families and promote participation in these services as alternatives or complements to traditional treatment services. MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS - LLMSW, LLPC, TLLP, LMSW, LPC or LLP and possess the corresponding State of Michigan licensure. All state licensure must continually remain active, in effect, and free from disciplinary action. Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology or Counseling. 1 year post-Master's experience providing mental health treatment services to adults with severe mental illness. Ability to engage and develop therapeutic alliances with adult mental health consumers, their families and supporters. Expertise in helping consumers identify their service needs and preferences, develop initial treatment plans, and transition to longer-term services based on their treatment plans. Nonjudgmental approach that reflects cultural competency and sensitivity to the unique needs and diverse experiences of adults with mental illness, substance abuse/dependence, their families and providers. Demonstrate effective organizational, verbal and written communication skills. Must obtain the Qualified Mental Health Professional and Qualified Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Professional credential within 120 days of hire. Must possess a CAADC credential, or be on an active, approved registered MCBAP certification Development Plan within six weeks of hire. LENGTH OF ASSIGNMENT - Ongoing SHIFT / HOURS PER WEEK - Mon-Thu 4:00pm-12:00am, Fri 4:00pm-11pm. Some Sat hours between 9:00am-2:00pm.
