Job Description

Transform Lives Through Communication in the Vibrant City of Cincinnati - Become a Speech Language PathologistOverview What if your next career step put you in the heart of a community where every word spoken adds vibrancy to life? As a Speech Language Pathologist in Cincinnati, your impact will go beyond the clinical aspects of communication and swallowing disorders. You will be a vital part of a journey that nurtures potential, fosters confidence, and strengthens connections among people of all ages - from toddlers uttering their first words to seniors regaining their voice. This role offers a distinct chance to help a diverse clientele across all age groups in an environment that seamlessly integrates outpatient services with occasional inpatient care. Whether your interests lie in pediatric speech development, adult neurological disorders, or therapeutic interventions for the elderly, here you will discover both passion and adaptability in your practice. Description Assess patients from pediatric to geriatric demographics through standardized testing and observational evaluations. Create individualized treatment strategies that cater to immediate goals as well as anticipated communication, cognitive, or swallowing outcomes. Deliver personalized speech therapy sessions emphasizing communication, language refinement, fluency enhancement, voice modulation, and swallowing techniques. Engage in collaborative efforts with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nursing staff, physicians, family members, and caregivers to craft comprehensive treatment plans. Educate patients and their families on strategies to bolster improvement outside of therapy sessions. Occasionally conduct inpatient assessments and interventions, ensuring seamless transitions in care throughout the healing process. Maintain precise and timely documentation that meets all relevant state, federal, and organizational standards. Commit to continuous learning by staying abreast of industry advancements through educational opportunities and peer interactions. Education Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an approved institution. Successful completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if you are not yet ASHA-certified. Certifications Current state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist. Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is highly preferred. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of hire. Skills Expertise in evidence-based approaches for a variety of age groups, with a solid foundation in developmental and acquired communication disorders. Strong interpersonal skills engaging effectively with patients, families, and multi-disciplinary teams. Able to customize therapy approaches accommodating various cultural and linguistic needs. Demonstrated clinical judgment and adept problem-solving skills. Familiarity with electronic health records and documentation protocols. Benefits Attractive salary that reflects your level of experience. Flexible work schedules that promote a healthy work-life balance with diverse patient caseloads. Paths for specialization in pediatric, adult neuro rehab, or geriatric services. Generous time-off policies including paid time off (PTO) and holiday pay. A variety of health insurance options including medical, dental, vision, and life coverage. Support for continuing education expenses and professional growth. A cooperative, team-oriented atmosphere that prioritizes exceptional patient care and ongoing learning. A Journey That Moves You Forward In this position, your role will extend beyond standard speech therapy - you will become part of a mission dedicated to restoring voices, enhancing communication, and generating joy through the simplest yet profound human interactions: listening and being heard. Collaborate with colleagues who share camaraderie and a unified vision, within a setting that cultivates cooperation instead of rivalry. Every patient's narrative is unique; it's essential that you contribute positively to how those stories unfold. Why You'll Love Calling Cincinnati Home Cincinnati is a city that harmoniously blends cultural richness with modern innovation, offering a lifestyle that is filled with energy and grounded in community spirit. Nestled alongside the Ohio River, this dynamic metropolis is a paradise for those who appreciate a mix of natural beauty, cultural events, and professional opportunities. Whether you're a recent graduate or a seasoned professional seeking a refreshing challenge, Cincinnati provides an environment ripe for both personal growth and career advancement. Who We Want to Join Our Team We are in search of a Speech Language Pathologist who approaches their work with both compassion and dedication. You might be someone who sees a timid child and imagines a world where every thought is confidently expressed, or you may hear the beginnings of recovery in the voice of a stroke survivor and feel inspired to guide them forward. You could be an expert in pediatric care looking to broaden your expertise into adult therapies - or perhaps a clinician specialized in neurological recovery eager to weave in developmental interventions. Whatever your story, if you are ready to play a vital role with heart and expertise, we are excited to welcome you into our community.
