Job Title: Nurse Manager of Surgical Services Location: Ocala, FL 34474 Position Type: Full-Time Position Overview We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Nurse Manager of Surgical Services to lead perioperative operations at a well-established acute care facility in Ocala, FL. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing the clinical, operational, and financial performance of the Surgical Services department, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care. The Nurse Manager will supervise nursing staff, coordinate surgical services, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards while fostering a culture of teamwork, safety, and excellence. Responsibilities Provide leadership and oversight for daily operations of the Surgical Services department (OR, Pre-Op, PACU, and related areas). Supervise, mentor, and evaluate nursing and support staff. Develop and manage staff schedules to ensure appropriate coverage and productivity. Ensure compliance with state, federal, and accreditation standards. Monitor quality metrics and implement performance improvement initiatives. Oversee department budgeting, supply management, and cost control efforts. Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes. Promote patient safety and infection prevention protocols. Support staff development, continuing education, and retention initiatives. Participate in strategic planning and service line growth initiatives. Qualifications Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Florida or compact state). Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Master's degree preferred. Minimum 3-5 years of recent perioperative nursing experience. Minimum 2 years of leadership or management experience in Surgical Services. Strong knowledge of OR workflow, regulatory compliance, and quality improvement processes. Current BLS certification (ACLS preferred).
