Job Description

Summary: The Special Procedures Technologist performs invasive diagnostic and interventional radiographic procedures, ensuring the operation and quality assurance of imaging equipment, film processing, and patient monitoring. This role actively supports daily section activities by assisting as a scrub, float, and imaging technologist. Experience: Candidates should have hands-on experience with invasive diagnostic and/or interventional radiography procedures, demonstrating strong technical skills and expertise. The ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team including radiologic technologists, nurses, and cardiovascular technicians is essential. Requirements: Must hold current RT(R)(CI)(VI) certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and AHA CPR certification for healthcare workers. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required, along with the ability to maintain composure in high-stress situations. Flexibility with work schedules and willingness to be on call are necessary. Patient Care: Provides compassionate care tailored to patients of all ages, from newborns to geriatrics, understanding developmental needs and treatment variations. Demonstrates knowledge of medications, emergency procedures, and appropriate use of medical equipment to assess and respond to patient needs effectively. Physical Demands: This position requires good hearing, clear speech, visual acuity, motor coordination, and manual dexterity. The work involves medium to heavy physical activity, including moving equipment and patients, and exposure to x-radiation and potentially infectious materials.
