Description Conduct thorough assessments of pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients, utilizing both formal evaluations and observational methods. Design individualized therapy plans that cater to immediate goals and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing needs. Deliver dedicated speech therapy sessions that focus on enhancing abilities in communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including physical and occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, family members, and caregivers, to coordinate comprehensive care. Provide education and resources for patients and their families, fostering progress and understanding beyond therapy sessions. Partake in occasional evaluations and interventions for inpatient speech therapy to ensure seamless care across the treatment continuum. Maintain meticulous documentation adhering to state, federal, and organizational standards. Engage in continuous learning through professional development activities and peer-learning opportunities. Education Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution. Successful completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) for those not yet ASHA-certified. Certifications Valid state license as a Speech-Language Pathologist. Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within 30 days of hire. Skills Expertise in evidence-based therapeutic approaches suitable for all demographics, coupled with a deep understanding of varied speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
