Job Description

Join a dedicated healthcare team in the heart of the Midwest region, providing exceptional perioperative nursing care in an ambulatory surgery setting. This role involves delivering direct patient care through the nursing process, demonstrating clinical expertise, and adhering to professional ethical standards. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Adhere to established safety protocols including infection prevention, safe patient handling, and critical lab notifications to maintain a secure care environment. Administer medications, perform nursing interventions, and provide patient and family education to support positive health outcomes. Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessments to monitor status, enhance quality, and ensure safety. Document all patient care activities accurately to comply with quality measures and support team communication. Effectively communicate pertinent patient information to physicians and healthcare team members to improve outcomes. Engage patients and families with timely communication that fosters understanding and supports health goals. Delegate tasks appropriately while promoting teamwork and accountability within the care team. Adapt positively to healthcare dynamics and changes, supporting the organization's mission and values. Incorporate critical thinking and pursue ongoing education to enhance nursing skills. Perform delegated tasks to maintain quality and patient safety. Education Graduation from an accredited nursing school is required; a Bachelor of Science in Nursing is preferred. Experience At least one year of healthcare experience is preferred. Requirements Current Registered Nurse license in a Compact State or the state of employment. American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification. Mental and Physical Demands This position requires considerable mental focus, frequent walking, standing, lifting up to 35 pounds, and various physical movements such as turning, carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, crouching, twisting, and reaching. Working Conditions Frequent exposure to infectious and communicable diseases, as well as occasional encounters with hostile individuals, may occur. Minimal physical discomfort is expected.
