As a Mechanical Cost Estimator, you will play a crucial role in evaluating the costs associated with mechanical systems in various projects. You will gain insights into our competitive strengths and effectively communicate these advantages throughout the bidding process. Key Responsibilities: Oversee the mechanical bid process, including general conditions, HVAC, process piping and ducting, millwrighting, and structural steel. Conduct cost comparisons and analyses. Build and nurture relationships with skilled trade contractors, vendors, and suppliers. Estimate costs of mechanical plans with precise quantity take-offs. Develop project schedules and task durations. Embrace new construction methods and adapt to market changes. Establish and monitor budgets for all construction phases. Identify cost-saving techniques, materials, and procedures. Track plan changes and estimate costs associated with modifications. Manage subcontractor solicitations when necessary. Draft scopes of work for subcontractors. Interpret and understand Contract Drawings and Specifications. Stay updated on industry competitive advantages to enhance the bidding process. Assist in creating submittals and collaborate with project managers during the pre-construction phase. Qualifications: 5+ years of experience in construction preferred. Willingness to travel to job sites as necessary. Flexibility to work evenings or weekends if required. Proficiency in reading blueprints and understanding plans.
