Join a dedicated healthcare team providing compassionate, skilled nursing care to patients with diverse medical needs in a critical access hospital setting located in the Pacific Northwest region. This role involves delivering high-quality care during the night shift, from 6:00 PM to 6:30 AM, ensuring patient safety and comfort through expert assessment, implementation, and evaluation of nursing interventions. Job Summary The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for administering medications and treatments, collaborating with physicians and healthcare team members, and maintaining accurate patient documentation. This position requires sound critical thinking and decisive judgment to care for acutely ill patients in accordance with established policies and protocols. Key Responsibilities Administer medications and treatments following approved nursing techniques and protocols. Provide timely and accurate information to healthcare providers to support continuity of care. Document patient care activities, including vital signs, medication administration, and intake/output. Develop individualized care plans within 24 hours of patient admission. Ensure compliance with legal and ethical standards, including obtaining appropriate consents. Participate in orientation, staff meetings, and ongoing training to foster teamwork and professional growth. Engage actively in special projects and departmental initiatives as assigned. Education and Experience Graduation from an accredited nursing program is required. Bachelor's degree in Nursing is preferred. At least one year of RN experience in an acute care setting is preferred. Recent telemetry or cardiac nursing experience of one year or more is preferred. Licenses and Certifications Current, unrestricted nursing license in Washington State or equivalent regional licensure. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification is required. Skills and Abilities Strong knowledge of nursing procedures and patient care principles. Ability to apply age-specific growth and development principles to patient care. Commitment to patient privacy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA standards. Effective organizational and prioritization skills within a dynamic clinical environment. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal. Proficiency with technology, including electronic medical records and Microsoft Office. Physical Requirements Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, standing, walking, bending, and reaching as required by patient care duties.
