Mortgage Collections Specialist Location: Remote- US only Compensation: $22-$23 per hour + Paid Overtime Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday Position Overview: Our client is seeking a Mortgage Collections Specialist with strong communication skills and a firm but professional phone presence. This is a high-volume call role, ideal for someone who's comfortable spending the majority of their day on the phone helping resolve delinquent mortgage accounts. This role focuses on helping borrowers bring their accounts current, setting up repayment plans, and following strict documentation and policy standards. Prior experience working with mortgage borrowers and navigating repayment conversations is required. Key Responsibilities: Make outbound calls to borrowers with past-due mortgage payments Categorize outreach by delinquency stage: 45 days, 45-90 days, and 90+ days Work with customers to set up repayment arrangements Follow all internal policies and procedures regarding borrower communication Document call details, actions taken, and borrower commitments in the system Communicate with vendors as needed to gather relevant file details Maintain borrower confidentiality and follow all data security protocols Adhere to mortgage collections regulations and compliance standards Support improvements to department policies and workflow Qualifications: 2+ years of experience in mortgage collections within the past 12 months Comfortable being on the phone throughout the day Familiar with structuring repayment plans and navigating sensitive borrower conversations Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools Must follow directions well and be comfortable working within clearly outlined procedures Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to work with empathy while maintaining professionalism and accountability Please Note: This is a full-time, in-office role that requires active and consistent call activity.
