Compensation: The BACB uses compensation data for the metro Denver labor market to ensure our positions provide a competitive wage based on the education and experience requirements. The annual salary for this position is $90,000 The successful candidate meets the required education and experience but also enjoys: Working in the office Participating in collaborative discussions with team members Learning and professional development Position Summary: The Ethics Review Specialist plays a critical role in maintaining the integrity and credibility of the BACB's certification process. Using their behavior-analytic expertise, the Ethics Review Specialist will thoroughly review and assess Notices of Alleged Violation ("Notices") related to professional conduct, competence, and ethics in applied behavior analysis. They will play a key role in enhancing our systems and procedures to streamline case processing and promote efficiency within the Ethics Department. The Ethics Review Specialist will use the knowledge that they gain from this role to help anticipate and address emerging issues and implement strategies to mitigate liability risks and facilitate scalable solutions. While not directly supervising staff, the Ethics Review Specialist will have the chance to provide mentorship and valuable feedback to other staff as part of their responsibilities. This position will remain open until filled. RequirementsEvaluate and analyze cases pertaining to professional conduct, competence, and ethical standards with meticulous attention to detail. Utilize established internal resources to render fair and consistent decisions regarding certification eligibility and disciplinary actions. Effectively convey decisions with clarity and professionalism to stakeholders, including certificants, applicants, and relevant parties involved in each case. Collaborate with internal teams, including legal counsel and subject matter experts, to ensure comprehensive case review and resolution. Offer management constructive feedback and innovative suggestions for procedural enhancements aimed at optimizing the efficiency and efficacy of the review process. Anticipate and address emerging issues, implementing strategies to mitigate liability risks and facilitate scalable solutions. Other duties as assigned. Competencies: Ability to analyze complex ethics cases thoroughly, identify key issues, and draw insightful conclusions. Thoroughness and accuracy in reviewing case information and documentation to ensure integrity and credibility. Demonstrated ability to make fair and consistent decisions regarding professional conduct and competence in behavior analysis. Capacity to evaluate information, assess different perspectives, and make sound judgments. Skill in identifying issues, exploring alternatives, and implementing solutions to enhance case processing and departmental efficiency. Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities, handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and navigate complex situations effectively. Ability to identify opportunities for streamlining procedures and improving systems to enhance efficiency within the department. Experience and Education: BCBA certification required. Minimum of 3 years of experience providing behavior-analytic services as a BCBA. Proficient in using the Microsoft Office suite with advanced capabilities in excel. Employment Authorization: Candidates must have the ability to work unrestricted in the U.S. The BACB does not offer visa sponsorship of any kind. Successful completion of a background check is required after the offer of employment. The BACB uses the E-Verify system during the hiring process to confirm employment eligibility to work in the United States. Supervisor Role: No Work Environment : This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and video conferencing. Physical Demands : While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to listen and speak. This is largely a sedentary role; however, the ability to lift and carry a laptop, lift files, open filing cabinets, frequently type, bend and reach as necessary is essential to the position. Position Type and Expected Hours of Work : This is a regular full-time IN OFFICE position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, typically 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Occasional evening, holidays, and weekend work may be required based on operations. Campus Wellness : The BACB is a tobacco and vape free campus. Consumption of tobacco products or vaping of any kind is prohibited. Travel : Minimal travel is expected for this position.
