Education Requirements Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution is mandatory. Opportunities for continuing education and advanced certifications are encouraged and supported. Certification Requirements Active Occupational Therapist (OTR/L) license is essential. NBCOT (National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy) certification is a requirement.
