Position Summary The Sr. Analysis & Simulation Engineer is responsible for defining and applying simulation methods and tools supporting research and new product development. This role requires expertise in advanced analysis techniques, simulation tools and a solid understanding of the underlying concepts in physics. This role specializes in conducting thermal, mechanical, electromagnetic, and multiphysics simulations to validate and drive innovation in product designs that support IEM's commitment to powering what's next. Key Responsibilities Define and perform analyses including CFD, FEA, electromagnetic and electrostatic simulations for design validation and optimization. Develop new analytical tools and simulation models to predict thermal, mechanical, dielectric, and electromagnetic performance. Document findings in the form of engineering reports and white papers. Integrate simulation results with physical test data to validate models and refine design criteria. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Design, Testing, Manufacturing, and Product Management) to translate simulation insights into actionable design recommendations. Drive continuous improvement in simulation accuracy, efficiency, and integration with digital design workflows. Evaluate and recommend new simulation tools, techniques, and training to advance team capabilities. Represent the Analysis & Simulation discipline in design reviews, technical discussions, and innovation initiatives. Qualifications Strong understanding of thermal, electromagnetic, and structural principles relevant to power distribution equipment. Expertise in multiphysics Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) methods using tools such as Ansys or COMSOL. Familiar with three-phase electric power concepts, power distribution systems, power control and protection strategies. Familiarity with statistical analysis methods to interpret and utilize empirical data effectively. Excellent communication and technical writing skills. Team-oriented mindset with excellent interpersonal skills. Minimum 5 years of experience designing, testing or analyzing low and/or medium voltagepower distribution equipment or related products. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline; advanced degree preferred. Design Experience using SolidWorks is highly preferred. Experience with common standards for electrical equipment (UL 891, 1558, 508A; IEEE C37.20, etc.) is a plus.
