Job Description

General Summary: The CT/MRI Technologist delivers patient services using advanced computed tomography and MRI imaging equipment, creating detailed exam records for radiologist interpretation. This role may also support other medical imaging areas as trained. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Exhibits flexibility in scheduling, punctuality, and availability while maintaining composure under pressure. Effectively communicates complex information, prioritizes tasks, and manages time to meet established schedules. Collaborates seamlessly with healthcare personnel and physicians across all levels. Provides compassionate personal care and safe patient transfers, proficient with adaptive equipment such as hoyer lifts and sliding boards. Demonstrates strong interpersonal, customer service, and problem-solving skills. Maintains confidentiality and adheres to compliance standards. Participates in performance improvement initiatives as directed. Keeps patients and their families informed about exam progress and responds promptly to patient needs. Performs CT and MRI procedures following departmental policies and regulatory guidelines, accurately interprets physician orders, assists with record maintenance, and ensures patient safety. Education: Graduation from an accredited radiologic technology program is required. Prior CT training is preferred. Experience: Experience as a Radiology Technologist is preferred, with at least one year as a registered CT technologist being advantageous. Multi-modality technologist experience is a plus. Certification/License: Must be a registered CT technologist, RT(CT), with current ARRT registration. Candidates willing to cross-train and attempt registry within 30 days of hire, passing within 90 days of eligibility, will be considered. BLS certification through the American Heart Association is required. Mental/Physical Requirements: Requires sustained close mental and visual attention. Frequently works under stressful conditions due to patient needs and critical situations. Must be able to move throughout the department and perform physical tasks including standing, walking, sitting, lifting up to 35 lbs., pushing, pulling, and stooping. Working Conditions: Potential exposure to infectious diseases, unpleasant odors, anesthetics, disinfectants, chemicals, and controlled radiation. May be subject to on-call duties and varied shifts to ensure effective service delivery.
