GENERAL PURPOSE: As the Manager of Energy Operations, you will oversee a $120M utility process across all stores, reporting directly to the Director of Energy & Disposal. You will supervise a dedicated staff responsible for utility bill payments and the management of store Building Management Systems (BMS). Key tasks include managing external vendor deliverables and closely engaging with various internal and external stakeholders to support both new and existing locations. This role requires executing established procedures while identifying and implementing process improvements. You will be part of the Store Facilities team and will participate in after-hours emergency response on a rotating basis with other managers. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Oversee the performance of external partners involved in utility bill payments, energy management, and BMS system maintenance. Lead a team to deliver responsibilities promptly, professionally, and efficiently. Collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders, including utility companies, on utilities setup and planning while integrating external data into internal systems. Work closely on invoice processing, periodic expenses, and budget planning. Effectively handle service escalations from store teams and other stakeholders. Assist the Director and other departments in support of our company's sustainability goals and reporting needs. Ensure timely and cost-effective repairs of BMS-related equipment. Identify operational improvements and gain approval for innovative ideas. Provide meaningful periodic and ad hoc reports related to responsibilities. Maintain a strong awareness of the retail energy industry, including regulatory and conservation opportunities. Support the overall Store Facilities department and participate in special assignments and emergency response roles. A minimum of 5 years of experience in energy management or a related field. Proven experience in managing direct reports and interfacing with diverse stakeholders. Experience in multi-site energy management or facilities services. Strong analytical skills for complex issues and data presentation. Knowledge of energy management systems (EMS/BMS) and HVAC operations. Familiarity with work order management systems, preferably Service Channel. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ADA: This position requires the ability to work in an office environment, primarily on a computer, and entails sitting, standing, walking, hearing, talking on the phone, attending in-person meetings, typing, and handling paper/files. Regular attendance and punctuality are essential. The vision requirements include the ability to see information in print and/or electronically.
