Assistant Commercial Construction Project Manager, J2 Solutions, Inc. What We Do: Started in 2002, J2 Solutions is a construction management firm headquartered in Venice, Florida. We guide healthcare professionals, faith-based leaders & entrepreneurs through the difficult process of construction. Projects can range from simple interior surface upgrades to multi-million dollar facility upgrades. Most projects are negotiated design-build, with a fixed fee. All work is commercial in nature (mostly interior renovations) with no residential. What You'll Be Doing: You will be working closely with your Project Manager and clients to take projects from pre-construction through completion. On this job, you will learn how to "fill in the blanks," "ask the right questions" and "proactively look ahead" to make the projects successful. Our goal is to make the process as pain-free for our client as possible. You will be part of a team with a lot of energy, passion and desire to improve. There are no ceilings for those who perform. You'll be assisting Project Managers and site Superintendents to complete a variety of tasks; large & small, simple & complex, short duration (hours) & long (months). Our working territory is along the West coast of Florida, from Tampa/St. Petersburg south to Ft. Myers. On occasion, day travel will be required within this territory. The software platforms we most frequently use include; Procore, Bluebeam, MS Office, MS Project and Revit. Key Responsibilities Include: Assist the Project Manager in managing and oversee projects under their responsibility Limited scope development & assignment Preparation of preliminary milestone schedules Limited estimating (smaller projects) and bid-out Assist with subcontractor and vendor purchasing (buyout) Proposal/scope writing RFI/RFP coordination Project documentation Assistance with pay applications and invoicing Permitting and jurisdictional coordination Project communication(s) and documentation Project close out. Demonstrate leadership and core values to both team and client(s) Light commercial experience (1yr min) or Healthcare experience (2yr preferred) Strong communication skills, both oral & written Being able to decipher individual client expectations and act upon them Aggressive ownership and follow-through on project deadlines Position Requirements: Bachelor's degree (preferred, not required.
