OVERVIEWCovenant House Missouri empowers youth who are facing homelessness, trafficking, and exploitation to build independent, sustainable lives through transformative programs and services.ABOUT THE ROLE The Grants Manager is responsible for researching and writing grant proposals to fund Covenant House Missouri (CHMO), its mission, programs, and initiatives, while coordinating input from the various agency department teams, as needed. The Grants Manager is also responsible for all reporting and follow-up with funded grants, as well as the administrative oversight of federal, state, and/or local government grants, corporate and private foundations, and faith-based grants. The Grants Manager is charged with renewing existing grants received by CHMO and researching new grant and funding-related opportunities.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Identify, research, develop, and write compelling grant proposals for current and potential public and private funders (government, foundations, faith-based entities, and other) Manage follow-up invoicing and reporting as required by grantorsFacilitate site visits and cultivation activities, as neededCollaborate with staff to assess funding opportunities and create strategies for funding growth Meet regularly with Development and Program staff to evaluate funding prospects and prioritiesWork with the team to align goals, objectives, and outcome reporting, as requiredCoordinate the preparation of proposals, including task management, narrative writing, data reporting, and budget development with Program, Finance, and leadership teams, as appropriate, to ensure alignment with program and organizational needs Ensure high-quality, timely submission of proposals, reports, and other criteriaReconcile grant revenue and expenses with the Finance departmentCollaborate with the Chief Development Officer to create the annual revenue strategyAcknowledge and recognize grant awards and program reporting promptlyMaintain a database tracker to track grant deadlines, submissions, awards, and reportingBuild and nurture relationships with key funding contacts through meetings and agreed-upon engagement strategiesSupport fiscal needs' assessments in alignment with the agency mission and strategic planAttend events to market Covenant House Missouri and develop funding relationshipsReview and interpret RFPs and related funding documentsParticipate in additional Covenant House Missouri programs and activities, as neededFoster effective working relationships with colleagues, supervisors, and external stakeholders REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS You are an excellent fit for this role if you: Hold a bachelor's degree in the non-profit sector (preferred) and have a minimum of three years' grant writing experienceHave experience working with a donor database, working in human services agencies, and/or possess experience with homeless populationsHave strong written and verbal communication skills and strong people skills, including the ability to speak effectively before groups of agency partners or employees of an organizationAre flexible, amiable, and willing to work as a team playerHave strong attention to detail and time management skillsAre a self-starter with excellent organizational skills and can work with minimal supervisionHave strong computer skills and literacy in Microsoft Office Suite, with a concentration in Excel and WordHave a passion for Covenant House Missouri and the ability to convey its mission to funders OUR COMMUNITY / EEO STATEMENTCovenant House Missouri is an Equal Opportunity Employer and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any kind: CHMO is committed to the principle of equal employment opportunity for all employees and to providing employees with a work environment free of discrimination and harassment.
