If you are interested in joining The Building People, we encourage you to APPLY TODAY!/ppThe Building People, LLC, has a position open for a full-time Senior Building Controls Technician to provide services related to the expansion, upgrade or replacement of building automation hardware and software for smart building infrastructure. The position will work independently to meet project requirements with limited supervision. The programmer will be responsible for programming, configuring, and testing of Direct Digital Control (DDC) building automation and control systems./ppResponsibilities/Duties/pulliDesign and engineer control system hardware and software programming based on project plans, specifications, and other contract documents/liliAbility to program projects with various levels of complexity/liliCapable of performing network troubleshooting, database troubleshooting and repair programming/liliCollaborates with the engineering team on the system configuration, network and software requirements, graphics, programming, and sequences of operations/liliDevelop and configure the sequence of operations, programming, graphics, database, network, and integrations into third party systems/liliMaintains accurate and thorough project documentation and redlines/liliProvides owner training as required by the project/liliExecutes system commissioning and functional testing/liliAssist in installation of control hardware/liliStartup and commission new hardware installations/liliProvide project management assistance on projects as required, interfacing directly to customers/liliSupervise sub-contractors and suppliers as needed/liliHelp educate lower-level technicians through on the job training as needed/li/ulpSkills Requirements/ppRequired Skills/pulliExcellent verbal and written communication skills/liliProficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software/liliProgramming skills/liliStrong analytical skills/liliStrong interactive and communication skills/liliStrong troubleshooting skills/liliExperience with electronics and basic electrical circuits/liliThorough understanding of and ability to use appropriate tools/liliExcellent customer service and ability to work well with others/liliKnowledge of DDC Control Theory and Applications as related to HVAC equipment/liliStrong knowledge of common DDC communications protocols such as but not limited to BACnet, LON, Modbus, etc./li/ulpRequired Experience/Education/pulliAt least 3 years of experience with programming, startup and commissioning of control systems/liliNiagara N4 certification/liliExperience with multiple manufacturers of controls a plus/liliTechnical knowledge with installation of controls equipment and ancillary devices/li/ulpPhysical Requirements/pulliPhysically able to climb overhead or crawl under spaces to complete jobs./liliMust be willing to work at heights./liliMust be able to lift up to 35 pounds at times./li/ulpQualifications/ppOur positions may require a background screening and clearance directly from the Government./ppPlease note that telework arrangements are subject to change based on customer requirements./ppADDITIONAL INFORMATION/pulliMedical Rx/liliDental/liliVision/liliFlexible Spending Accounts/lili401(k) Retirement Plan/liliLife Insurance/ADD/liliLong Term Disability and Short-Term Disability/liliPaid Time Off/liliHoliday Pay/li/ulpAll positions require a background check after acceptance of our offer.
