Job Description

Join our dynamic team as a Junior Triage Consultant, where you will play a vital role in supporting military service members and their families. In this position, you will provide essential services, resources, and referrals, focusing on Non-Medical Counseling (NMC) and Employee Assistance Programs (EAP). Your compassionate approach and ability to handle high-risk calls with professionalism will make a significant difference in the lives of those you assist. Effectively assess the needs of callers to ensure that their concerns are resolved during the first interaction. Provide education on program offerings, promote available services, and demonstrate a strong understanding of military culture. Conduct thorough assessments of callers' needs for NMC/EAP and work/life services, encompassing areas such as non-medical counseling, health and wellness, and additional specialty services. Identify and manage high-risk cases, following established protocols for response. Utilize de-escalation techniques to assist callers, navigate available resources, and address complex issues in crisis situations. Ensure all interactions maintain contractual service standards and accurately document cases in our Case Management System (CMS). Perform follow-up communication and reporting tasks as assigned. Exemplify excellent customer service throughout all interactions. Recognize and respect military culture by addressing service members by their rank and expressing gratitude for their service, while employing strong empathic listening skills and appropriate interventions. Collaborate with the team to meet all annual compliance requirements including certification renewals and training initiatives to maintain CMS system access. Minimum Qualifications Master's degree in social work, Family Therapy, Counseling, or related human services field. Preferred: State Licensure for independent practice (such as LCSW, LPC, or LMFT). 1-2 years of relevant post-graduate work experience in counseling, social work, or mental health services. Experience working with military or Veterans populations is preferred. Having a military spouse or family member background is also valued. Other Job Specific Skills Must be a U.S. Citizen. Knowledgeable regarding mandated procedures for child and elder abuse situations. Familiarity with core areas such as child development, parenting, adoption, education, and elder services. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) with typing speed of 50 wpm. Strong organization and time management skills. Adhere to all HIPAA regulations. Possession of, or ability to obtain, a current Tier 2 suitability public trust clearance is required. Compensation Ranges Compensation varies based on multiple factors such as geographical location, skill set, education level, certifications, client requirements, affordability, government clearance, and years of experience.
