What You'll Be Doing: As a Director of Field Medical Affairs focusing on Pain Management, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our utilization management team. This is a unique opportunity to positively influence patient lives while enjoying a supportive and non-clinical work environment that values collaboration and continuous learning. Collaboration Opportunities: Work closely with leadership, management, and other Physicians to provide critical insights when needed. You will also support Initial Clinical Reviewers as a valued resource. Your Responsibilities Will Include: Serve as the Physician Clinical Reviewer for Interventional Pain Management, evaluating cases that do not meet medical necessity guidelines and other specialty requests as necessary. Facilitate peer-to-peer discussions with requesting physicians regarding determinations within the required regulatory timeframe. Apply clinical review guidelines to ensure consistency in the review process, adhering to the organization’s policies as well as URAC and NCQA standards. Provide clinical rationale for standard and expedited appeals, maintaining thorough documentation of all communications. Engage in ongoing training to support the inter-rater reliability process. Act, when requested, as Medical Director for selected health plans or regions, collaborating with the Senior Medical Director on utilization management initiatives. Qualifications - Required and Preferred: MD/DO/MBBS - Required Minimum of five (5) years' experience in the field of Pain Medicine, post-residency - Preferred Unrestricted clinical license in medicine or relevant specialty - Required Ability to maintain medical licenses in your state and any other necessary states - Required Active Board Certification in Pain Management or equivalent, combined with clinical experience in Interventional Pain Management - Required Strong clinical, management, communication, and organizational skills - Required Energetic and inquisitive nature with a commitment to quality healthcare - Required Proficiency in computer skills - Required To ensure a secure hiring process, we have implemented strict identity verification steps, including the submission of a government-issued photo ID, during interviews. The expected base salary for this position is $105-110 per hour, with an additional performance-based bonus component.
