Job Description: Position Details: $7,500 sign-on bonus (Terms Apply) - Not eligible if previously employed by a Performance Food Group (PFG) company within the last 6 months. We are seeking CDL A Drivers with early morning dispatch four to five days per week (Monday-Saturday). Routes may include multiple night layovers with company-paid hotel accommodations and a food stipend. No Sunday work required. Minimum earning of $320/day plus component pay (based on cases, miles, and stops). Average annual earnings around $90,000/year. Position Purpose: This is an entry-level driver training role. The driver will learn to operate a tractor trailer or straight truck, transporting and unloading food and related products to customers according to safe driving practices and DOT regulations. Professional communication with customers, vendors, and co-workers is crucial for executing service duties. Position Responsibilities: Complete the PFG Entry Level Driver Trainee or Dock to Driver Training Program, maintaining required documentation. Assist the driver trainer with deliveries, following all instructions carefully. Conduct safety checks (pre/post-trip) and inspections to ensure compliance with DOT regulations and company safety standards. Adhere to DOT regulations and company safe driving policies; report all safety hazards immediately. Inspect trailer loads, verifying item integrity and checking invoices for accuracy. Follow delivery schedules and unload customer orders, transporting items to designated storage areas. Verify deliveries with customers and collect payment when required. Ensure all vehicles and freight are properly secured at all times. Handle damaged goods and returns following company protocols. Maintain accurate records of hours of service in compliance with Federal DOT regulations. Perform housekeeping duties in the truck and loading areas, ensuring cleanliness and organization. Fulfill other related tasks as assigned. Qualifications: 6+ months of commercial driving experience. High school diploma/GED or equivalent. Valid CDL A. Meet all state licensing and/or certification requirements where applicable. Must be 21 years of age. Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for the past three years. Pass post-offer drug test and criminal background check. Pass road test. Valid DOT health card or the ability to secure a new one. Able to lift and handle product cases weighing between 10-35 pounds and up to 60-90 pounds.
