Unit Notes Med Sol prescreens/auto offer & manager has 24 hrs to rescind need 2 sup refs from modality submitting to (charge accepted) at submittal; 1 w/in 12 mo. & 1 w/in 3 years worked Med Sol conducts a profile review and unit does a full interview PRIOR TO ACCEPTANCE, THE RN MUST PASS THE DYS EXAM. THIS MUST BE COMPLETED WITHIN 24-48 HRS. PLEASE NOTE IT'S PASS OR FAIL AND THEY GET TWO ATTEMPTS. A SCREENSHOT SHOWING THE NUMBER OF ATTEMPTS IS ALSO REQUIRED. If your traveler fails the 2nd attempt, they will be made DNU for 6 months with CommonSpirit AZ and Sacramento Region. Unit: GI-IR Hybrid M-F 8a-4:30p Call: GI coverage M-F 4p-8a, and Sat-Sun 7a to 8a (25hr) # of suites: 2 suites; Only run 1 team of 3 people each day, 2 of those people go between IR and GI and 1 strictly IR This is a unique hybrid position of GI and IR. They generally only do 3 GI cases per day in the afternoons which is why this is a dual role with IR in order to fill hours. They would be covering IR/procedural sedation in the AM and GI in the PM # of cases/day: • GI: Mon-Thur: 3 cases per day, Fridays: 7-8 cases • IR:6-7 cases per day if strictly doing IR. If doing IR and GI- will generally do 3 IR cases per day Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and be Procedural Sedation Certified to manage airways (this must be obtained within hiring window, they will receive during orientation) Job Duties: • GI: Travelers will be primarily a circulator unless they know how to tech for GI cases which is strongly preferred-if needed will operate in this roll if experienced. Will NOT need to do preop or recovery • IR: circulating and procedural sedation. Will NOT need to do preop or recovery" Common Cases: • "GI: EGDs, colonoscopies, ERCPs. Most cases are outpatient and very basic. Will occasionally do stents and banding for bleeds • IR: dialysis caths-tunnelled, paras, thoras, liver biopsies, very basic- no vascular" Experience or 'Must have' skills: • Must have 1 year experience • If they are only IR focused we require 1 year of either IR, ICU, or ER experience • Strongly prefer knowledge of how to tech for GI cases • The skillset most needed is GI- will be able to cover the IR portion with perm staff. If the candidate has strong IR experience with no GI will consider as well EMR/Equipment: Cerner Interventionalist hours/on call: during the day, on call after hours Is there a manager/Charge Nurse on each shift? Does the charge nurse take an assignment? Charge nurse is the perioperative charge- runs both units GI Tech/ IR Techs: no GI techs- RNs work in this role. They do have instrument techs that will do scope cleanings during the week. For weekend call, if the RNs know how to clean scopes or would be willing to train that would be great. IR techs will scrub Holiday/Call Requirements: will take 1 holiday during contract (if there are holidays during contract) Floating Requirements: may float to a sister hospital Scrub Color/Dress Code: provided How many shifts of unit/department specific orientation? Generally 5 days to include getting familiar with area and learning charting system Additional Notes: small department and MDs are great
