Our client is seeking a motivated Controls Designer to join their dynamic team on a contractual basis, with a strong possibility of permanent placement. This opportunity offers a hands-on role in industrial control system design, providing valuable experience in a collaborative environment committed to innovation and quality. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, eager to learn, and ready to take the next step in their engineering career. Key Qualifications: Associate degree in Engineering, technical discipline, or equivalent with at least 2 years of relevant experience Minimum of 4 years working within industrial electrical or automation environments Practical experience using AutoCAD for creating detailed electrical drawings Familiarity with industrial automation components like breakers, contactors, VFDs, sensors, etc. Ability to interpret and work with electrical wiring diagrams and schematics Knowledge of system standards such as NFPA 70 (NEC) and NFPA 79 Experience with programmable controllers and industrial instrumentation Strong communication skills and ability to work independently in a fast-paced setting Main Responsibilities: Design and draft industrial control panels utilizing AutoCAD and EPLAN, focusing on schematic accuracy and panel layout Select and size electrical components aligned with project specifications and safety standards Optimize panel arrangements for thermal management and layout efficiency Generate comprehensive design packages ready for fabrication and assembly Collaborate with project managers, fabrication teams, and clients during all project phases Respond to technical queries during panel assembly and field installation Incorporate customer feedback and technical standards into design solutions Ensure designs comply with relevant codes and internal standards Support project documentation, review, and revisions as needed Assist with ongoing design improvements and learn new industry tools dynamically If you're ready to contribute your skills to exciting automation projects and grow within a supportive team environment, we encourage you to apply today!
