Please complete the attached Related Experience document and the Availability Calendar and email to Lifeguard (Must be 16+ years old) Hours: 35 to 40 per week Hourly Rate Range: $17.25 to $18.50 About the role: We are seeking a highly skilled and responsible Waterfront Lifeguard to join our team. As a Waterfront Lifeguard, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety of all swimmers and beachgoers at our waterfront location, Sandy Beach. You will be responsible for monitoring the water and surrounding areas, responding to emergencies, and providing first aid when necessary. Responsibilities: Monitor the water and surrounding areas to ensure the safety of all swimmers and beachgoers Respond to emergencies and provide rescue and first aid when necessary Enforce all safety rules and regulations governing the conduct of persons utilizing the swimming facility Assume responsibility of Head Guard when assigned. Set-up and break-down of equipment as required. Maintain a clean and safe environment for all visitors, including cleaning and restocking the restrooms Communicate effectively with the Head Guard, or Waterfront Director on significant matters. Communicate regularly with coworkers, parents and participants to ensure a positive experience for all involved Attend regular training sessions to maintain and improve skills Teach swimming sessions or other specialty classes as assigned; may include evening sessions. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Ability to remain calm and focused in emergency situations Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work well in a team environment Requirements: Must be at least 16 years old based on 1-2 years of experience certifications Possess a current lifeguard certification from a recognized organization Strong swimming skills and physical fitness Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays Must be able to swim and perform rescues in open water Must be able to demonstrate physical endurance, visual and auditory acuity, professionalism and skills in using lifesaving equipment and techniques.
