Job Description Location: Near Elkhart, IN Industry: Advanced Manufacturing / Vehicle Systems Compensation: $90,000 - $100,000 + Benefits Our rapidly growing client is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join their Innovation Center, where new product concepts, automation solutions, and next-generation manufacturing technologies are developed and tested. This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys hands-on design, robotics integration, and working at the intersection of mechanical systems and automation. Key Responsibilities: Design and develop mechanical components, assemblies, and systems from concept through production Support robotics and automation initiatives, including integration of robotic cells and end-of-arm tooling Perform CAD modeling, prototyping, testing, and validation of new designs Contribute to programming and controls support for automated equipment (robotics, PLC interaction, or similar) Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, controls engineers, and R&D personnel Participate in troubleshooting, process improvement, and optimization of mechanical systems Support innovation projects focused on improving efficiency, quality, and product performance Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field 2-6+ years of mechanical design or automation experience preferred Experience with CAD software (SolidWorks, Creo, or similar) Exposure to robotics, automation, or mechatronics systems strongly preferred Basic programming or controls knowledge (robot programming, PLCs, Python, etc.) is a plus Hands-on mindset with strong problem-solving abilities Ability to work both independently and within collaborative engineering teams Employee Selling Points: Work inside a dedicated Innovation Center focused on new technology and product development Opportunity to gain experience with robotics, automation, and advanced manufacturing Competitive salary with strong benefits package Stable organization with significant growth and investment in engineering Collaborative, team-driven culture with visibility to leadership Career advancement opportunities across engineering and technical disciplines Meet Your RecruiterErik Butzen Technical Recruiter Erik Butzen is a skilled and compassionate Senior Recruiter passionate about empowering individuals to advance in their careers.
