Job Responsibilities Conduct evaluations for pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients utilizing standardized assessments and observational practices. Create tailor-made treatment plans that cater to both immediate milestones and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing requirements. Implement one-on-one interventions targeting various aspects of communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing. Work collaboratively with a team of physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and family members to foster comprehensive treatment strategies. Provide education and resources to patients and families, supporting progress beyond therapy sessions. Facilitate occasional inpatient speech therapy evaluations and treatments to ensure a seamless continuity of care. Maintain meticulous documentation that aligns with regulated standards and organizational policies. Engage in ongoing education and peer collaboration to stay informed about advancements in the field. Educational Requirements Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution. Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification is pending. Certifications Needed State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist. Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment. Essential Skills Strong command of evidence-based treatment methodologies for patients of all ages, with a comprehensive understanding of speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
