Job Description

A mission-driven community health organization is seeking an On-Call Podiatrist to provide comprehensive foot and ankle care for patients of all ages. This role includes both direct patient care and serving as a clinical resource for other providers and support staff, promoting best practices in podiatric medicine. Schedule On-call, as needed Compensation$110 - $120 per hour Rate includes a differential in lieu of benefits. Compensation is determined based on experience and licensure in accordance with California pay transparency standards. Key Responsibilities Evaluate and treat foot, ankle, and lower-leg conditions, including calluses, ingrown toenails, heel spurs, arch disorders, and diabetic-related complications Perform physical examinations and review patient medical histories Order and interpret diagnostic tests such as X-rays and lab studies Provide non-surgical and minor surgical podiatric care within outpatient scope Prescribe orthotics, medications, and therapeutic interventions Educate patients on foot care, preventive health, and disease management Refer patients to specialists when systemic conditions are identified Serve as a clinical mentor and consultant to providers and support staff Participate in interdisciplinary care planning and podiatry-related consults Engage in continuing education to remain current in podiatric medicine Support implementation and use of electronic health record systems Travel to other clinic sites within the service area as needed Requirements Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) degree from an accredited program Active California Podiatry license Current DEA registration CPR certification Preferred Qualifications Experience practicing in a community health center or underserved setting Ability to work independently and collaboratively in team-based care Strong communication and interpersonal skills Cultural sensitivity when working with diverse patient populations Comfort with electronic medical record systems Basic Spanish language skills preferred Why Consider This Role This is an opportunity to support a community-focused healthcare organization while maintaining flexible, on-call scheduling.
