Job Title: Nurse Manager - Operating Room Location: University Hospital Shift: Primarily 1st shift, but variable based on 24/7 operation About the Role: We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Nurse Manager to lead patient care operations within University Hospital. This role oversees approximately 80 staff members across 18 OR suites. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership skills, with exposure to management in a union environment preferred. Position Summary: The Nurse Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, managing, and evaluating patient care operations for a designated area on a 24-hour basis. This includes: Developing strategic short-, mid-, and long-term goals to improve unit operations in alignment with the Medical Center's mission, vision, and values. Monitoring outcomes, identifying challenges, and implementing solutions. Managing, guiding, coaching, and evaluating the performance of patient care staff. Promoting collaboration across patient care departments to ensure seamless operations and services. Contributing to the development and implementation of evidence-based standards of practice. Identifying opportunities for improvement in patient care delivery and organizational processes. Assuming leadership in addressing and correcting factors contributing to problematic outcomes. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Nursing required; Master's degree in Nursing or related field preferred. Current and valid Ohio RN license. 3-5 years of clinical and management experience in a relevant care setting. Minimum of 2 years of prior leadership and management experience. Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
