Telecom Network Design Engineer We are seeking a talented Network Planning Engineer to join our team, working directly at the client's site in Melbourne, FL. About the Role: As a Telecom Network Design Engineer, you will play a vital role in the assessment, planning, and implementation of advanced telecommunications network designs. This position is critical in transitioning from legacy copper-based systems to innovative, scalable technologies. You will document solutions that support engineering and network operations centers (NOC), collaborate with diverse teams, and lead high-impact projects. Key Responsibilities: Evaluate and design telecommunications solutions aligned with mission-critical infrastructure and service requirements. Architect next-generation telco services to replace outdated copper systems. Implement customized network solutions that meet evolving customer needs and strategic objectives. Establish best practices in network design and capacity planning to ensure continuity for essential operations. Oversee the telco design release lifecycle to ensure timely execution and adherence to program milestones. Participate in after-action reviews to address and resolve technical challenges. Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for engineering and NOC teams. Identify opportunities for automation and optimization in network processes. Manage the workflow of telco design releases to meet implementation schedules. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunication Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or a related technical field. Minimum of 4 years' experience in WAN Telecommunications networks, or 2 years of post-secondary education with 8 years of relevant experience. Self-motivated with a strong ability to follow detailed instructions and action plans. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in team settings and independently. Strong project management skills, with a proven ability to meet deadlines. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications. Knowledge of engineering drawings and technical procedures. Understanding of industry concepts, including carrier services, provisioning terminology, and familiarity with networking technologies like CISCO routers and IP technologies. Ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance security clearance. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with network technologies such as SONET, Carrier Ethernet, and LTE. Proven ability to design, implement, and support Ethernet and TDM network infrastructures. Familiarity with telecommunications carrier ordering systems and processes. Knowledge of WAN/LAN, TDM, and Voice switching systems; TCP/IP, routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, RIP); VoIP, DWDM, CTI, and VPN technologies. Experience with leading network vendors like Cisco, Juniper, Ciena, RAD. Experience with database modeling tools such as MetaSolv.
