Job Overview The Senior Field Service Technician is a skilled professional dedicated to the commissioning, troubleshooting, and optimization of Copeland control systems and refrigeration equipment. This position requires a comprehensive understanding of refrigeration systems, control strategies, and their integration with HVAC and building management systems. Significant fieldwork will be expected, involving extensive overnight travel. You will foster strong relationships with customers, colleagues, and sales representatives. As a Senior Field Service Technician, your responsibilities will include: Commissioning and verifying control systems for refrigeration and HVAC applications (E2, E3, Site Supervisors, etc.). Troubleshooting system issues both on-site and remotely to ensure peak performance. Developing and modifying controller programs based on I/O legends or existing sequences. Managing new store commissioning and remodel projects while ensuring accurate documentation. Providing hands-on support and training for contractors and end users at sites. Reviewing and interpreting store prints, electrical schematics, and project specifications. Collaborating with Project Managers, Engineers, and Technical Support for successful project execution. Maintaining expertise in third-party control systems and network integrations. Ensuring compliance with all safety and industry standards. Required Education, Experience, & Skills: 3-5+ years of hands-on experience in refrigeration, controls, or commissioning. Advanced understanding of refrigeration cycle operations (compressors, valves, racks, cases). Knowledge of building automation systems and HVAC control logic. Experience with CO2 trans-critical or cascade systems is highly preferred. Familiarity with Modbus, BACnet, and other communication protocols is preferable. Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office, databases, and general software applications. Proven ability to work independently and handle multiple projects. Willingness to travel up to 85-90% of the time. Legal work authorization in the United States; sponsorship will not be provided for this role. Remote Work Arrangement: This position allows for complete remote work, although travel to a Copeland site may be necessary for team collaboration or client interactions. Our compensation structure is competitive, reflecting local market standards, with performance-based rewards during the annual review process. In line with Colorado EPEWA, the salary range for this role is $80,000-$104,000 annually, based on the skills and experiences candidates bring to the role. Working Conditions: Employees in this position may frequently encounter moving mechanical parts, varying weather conditions, extreme temperatures, and electrical hazards.
