What You'll Be Doing: As the Senior Director of Software Engineering, you will lead our software engineering organization through a transformative journey. Your primary focus will be on modernizing our systems, consolidating legacy platforms, and implementing scalable, efficient solutions. Collaborating closely with Engineering, Product, and business teams, you will ensure the delivery of innovative solutions that surpass expectations. As a key leader, you'll cultivate a culture of excellence, customer focus, and continuous improvement. Responsibilities Will Include: Build a Robust Engineering Culture: Create a high-performing team that values continuous learning, innovation, and accountability. Collaborate Across Departments: Work with leadership and product management to define a cohesive technical vision that aligns with business goals. Drive Strategic Transformation: Lead the modernization of platforms and processes, simplifying onboarding and infrastructure management while adhering to long-term technology roadmaps. Engage with Stakeholders: Act as a trusted partner by deeply understanding business needs and influencing progress through your technical expertise. Mentor and Develop Leaders: Coach engineering managers and staff, promoting leadership skills and technical depth within the organization. Enhance Technical Excellence: Oversee the design, development, and deployment of high-quality software solutions. Advocate for best practices in architecture and development. Manage Performance: Set clear goals and metrics for team performance and accountability. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field; a Master's degree is a plus. High technical acumen with the ability to influence strategy beyond your immediate team. 12+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 7 years in leadership roles managing large, distributed teams. A proven ability to lead through change and foster a culture of innovation and accountability. Demonstrated success in delivering complex, enterprise-scale software projects within time and budget constraints. Technical expertise in Python, Spark, API development, Data Warehousing concepts, ETL patterns, and SQL. A strong understanding of cloud services and DevOps practices. Healthcare domain knowledge, particularly with medical claims data, is strongly preferred. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders and articulate technical concepts clearly. A solid background in software engineering, architecture, and system integration is preferred. Use of artificial intelligence tools during interviews is prohibited and monitored, and misrepresentation will lead to disqualification. Technical Requirements: Employees are required to have high-speed internet (over 10 Mbps), and call center employees must be able to connect directly to their home router. These requirements may change with any office re-openings. The expected salary range for this position is $160,000 to $190,000, with eligibility for performance-based bonuses.
