Job Summary Join our Business Services team and play a vital role in keeping our district financially strong, compliant, and student-focused. The Accounting and Purchasing Specialist supports the financial health of the District through accounting, accounts payable, procurement, vendor coordination, and budget support. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys working in a collaborative environment but can operate independently, and takes pride in ensuring accuracy, compliance, and excellent service to staff and vendors. What You'll Do • Manage accounts payable, purchasing, and procurement processes • Monitor budgets and support financial reporting and year-end close • Ensure compliance with Education Code and state/federal regulations • Maintain vendor records, contracts, fixed assets, and financial documentation • Reconcile accounts and prepare required reports (grants, tax filings, E-Rate, etc.) • Provide technical guidance and customer service to district departments • Support audits and maintain accurate accounting records What Makes You a Great Fit • Strong knowledge of governmental accounting and procurement practices • Advanced Excel skills and experience with enterprise financial systems (e.g., PeopleSoft) • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy • Ability to interpret laws, regulations, and district policies • Professional judgment, confidentiality, and problem-solving skills Why This Role Matters • This position directly supports responsible fiscal stewardship, operational efficiency, and compliance, all while ensuring that district resources are managed effectively so students and staff can focus on learning and success.
