Description Job Summary The Department of Anesthesiology and Pain Management at UT Southwestern Medical Center is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Cardiac Anesthesiologist to join our growing Division of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Anesthesiology. This position offers an exceptional opportunity to provide outstanding clinical care, contribute to academic and research initiatives, and participate in training the next generation of anesthesiologists. Position HighlightsProvide anesthesia care for a wide range of adult cardiovascular and thoracic surgical procedures, including CABG, valve repair/replacement, aortic surgery, VADs, and heart and lung transplantation. Deliver perioperative anesthesia services for the increasing number of adults with congenital heart defects. Perform and interpret perioperative transesophageal echocardiography (TEE). Participate in the care of patients requiring advanced cardiothoracic and vascular anesthesia. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive, patient-centered care. Provide anesthesia services for a broad range of surgical procedures across multiple specialties. Actively engage in teaching activities for residents, fellows, and medical students. Contribute to departmental quality improvement, research, and scholarly activity within the division and department. Qualifications MD, DO, or equivalent degree. Board certification or eligibility in Anesthesiology (ABA or equivalent). Fellowship training in Adult Cardiothoracic Anesthesiology. Certification in Advanced Perioperative TEE (or eligibility).
