Examples of Duties Under direction, plans, develops, organizes, directs, and controls the public health programs and services of a division or major area of the Department. The Center Based Services Division oversees the Baltimore County Health Centers, providing high quality immunization services and reproductive health services to county residents regardless of insurance status or ability to pay. The Division employs about 50 staff across 7 health center sites, serving several thousand clients each year. Essential Job Duties Assists in the development, implementation, and assessment of public health programs, policies, and procedures. Plans, coordinates, and directs programs, including the supervision of professional nursing and other clinical staff. Assists In the recruitment, selection, and assignment of staff. Plans, develops, and implements training and orientation programs. Provides advice and consultation to professional staff and agency management regarding public health programs and activities. Assists in the planning and preparation of operating and grant budgets. Directs the preparation and maintenance of records, reports, statistics, and related correspondence. Establishes and maintains working relationships with officials and professional staff of other agencies and institutions. Examples of Other Duties Represents the Department on various boards, committees, and commissions. Performs other related duties as required. QualificationsRequired Qualifications Graduation from a recognized college or university with a bachelor's degree in nursing; Plus At least five years' public health experience, two years of which were in a supervisory capacity. (Additional qualifying education beyond a bachelor's degree may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required non-supervisory experience.) OR Graduation from a recognized college or university with an associate in arts degree in nursing; Plus At least seven years' public health nursing experience, two years of which were in a supervisory capacity. OR Graduation from an accredited diploma school of nursing; Plus At least six years' public health nursing experience, two years if which were in a supervisory capacity. Licenses and Certificates Possession of a valid license to practice as a professional registered nurse, issued by the Maryland State Board of Examiners of Nurses is required at the time of appointment. Possession of a valid driver's license equivalent to a noncommercial, class C Maryland driver's license is required at the time of appointment. Proof of Licenses, Certifications and Education Applicants are required to submit proof of education and licenses to meet the minimum qualifications of the position.
