Position OverviewWe are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Project Manager in our Construction Materials Testing (CMT) team. The Senior Project Manager – Construction Materials Testing (CMT) is responsible for the successful management, execution, and delivery of construction materials testing and special inspection projects. This includes coordinating with clients, contractors, field and laboratory personnel, and internal teams to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with specifications and regulatory standards. The Senior Project Manager also plays a key role in business development, proposal preparation, and maintaining strong client relationships.Minimum Job Requirements Minimum 7–10 years of experience in construction materials testing or geotechnical engineering.At least 3 years of direct project management experience in a consulting or construction environment.Strong knowledge of testing standards (ASTM, AASHTO, ACI, ICC, etc.).Proven track record in managing budgets, schedules, and multidisciplinary teams.Excellent written and verbal communication and client management skills.Proficiency with project management tools and reporting systems (e.g., Excel, Procore, Metafield, or similar). Skills & Competencies Manage multiple CMT projects simultaneously from proposal through closeout.Coordinate testing and inspection services for soil, concrete, asphalt, masonry, and structural steel.Serve as primary point of contact for clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies.Prepare and manage project budgets, schedules, and scopes of work.Review and approve field reports, test results, and final deliverables.Ensure that projects comply with applicable standards (ASTM, AASHTO, ACI, IBC, etc.).Coordinate with field and laboratory staff to maintain quality and consistency in testing.Supervise and mentor project engineers, technicians, and junior staff.Conduct regular site visits and attend project meetings as needed.Monitor project performance and implement corrective actions as necessary.Assist with business development, proposal writing, presentations and client outreach.Support QA/QC and accreditation process (e.g., AASHTO, R18, CCRL, AMRL).Promote and ensure job site and laboratory safety compliance. Key ResponsibilitiesTechnical Leadership & Core Discipline Leadership Lead the management, execution, and delivery of construction materials testing and special inspection projects.Coordinate testing and inspection services for soil, concrete, asphalt, masonry and structural steel.Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies, ensuring technical accuracy and compliance. Project Oversight, Operational & Strategic Leadership Manage multiple CMT projects simultaneously from proposal through closeout, ensuring timely completion within budget.Prepare and manage project budgets, schedules, and scopes of work, monitoring project performance and implementing corrective actions as necessary.Review and approve field reports, test results, and final deliverables to ensure quality and consistency.Oversee coordination with field and laboratory staff to maintain quality and constancy in testing process.Support QA/QC and accreditation processes (e.g., AASHTO, R18, CCRL, AMRL) to uphold industry standards. Leadership, Management, and People Development Supervise and mentor project engineers, technicians, and junior staff, fostering professional growth and development.Conduct regular site visits and attend project meetings to provide leadership guidance.
