The Executive Director of Pricing and Contracting Strategy will spearhead the Pricing and Contracting function and take ownership of pricing strategy and gross-to-net (GTN) performance across the entire Otsuka portfolio. This role reports to the Vice President of Market Access and is a vital part of the Market Access leadership team, serving as a strategic partner to senior leadership, including the Chief Financial Officer. The Executive Director will craft and implement sustainable pricing and contracting strategies aimed at enhancing patient access, maximizing portfolio profitability, and ensuring compliance across all U.S. market channels. Key Responsibilities Strategic Pricing & Market Access Leadership Drive the formulation of long-term U.S. pricing strategies across the portfolio, primarily focusing on boosting gross-to-net performance across various channels. Establish strategic pricing frameworks and tools to guide pricing decisions during product launch, ongoing management, and lifecycle adjustments. Ensure that pricing strategies are seamlessly integrated into portfolio planning and lifecycle management. Transform clinical and real-world evidence into impactful pricing and access strategies. Pricing Governance & Decision-Making Oversee U.S. pricing governance and ensure alignment with corporate strategy and financial objectives. Chair a cross-functional pricing and contracting committee to foster effective execution and performance assessment. Guarantee that pricing decisions are documented transparently and adhere to established guidelines. Contracting Strategy & Performance Management Lead the creation and monitoring of strategies for payer, PBM, GPO, and institutional contracting across all U.S. channels. Assess contract performance regularly to enhance both profitability and access outcomes. Guide the development of contracting models to support negotiation strategies and investment choices. Ensure a uniform approach to contracting across various products and customer segments. Gross-to-Net (GTN) & Financial Oversight Provide strategic oversight of GTN forecasting and financial performance across commercial and government channels. Collaborate closely with Finance to analyze the financial implications of pricing, contracting, and policy decisions. Communicate GTN challenges and opportunities to senior leadership effectively. Government Pricing & Policy Oversight Manage government price reporting for various compliance requirements. Ensure all pricing strategies comply with regulatory and legal standards. Work with Government Affairs to evaluate policy scenarios and their financial impacts on current and future products. Contract Operations Management Ensure that contract management and rebate operations adhere to performance and compliance benchmarks. Develop processes aimed at minimizing revenue losses across the contracting portfolio. Cross-Functional Leadership Collaborate with teams in Market Access, Finance, Marketing, Medical, Legal, and Government Affairs to align pricing and access strategies. Offer strategic guidance to business unit leaders about pricing and contracting trade-offs. Represent Pricing and Contracting in discussions with executive-level leadership. People Development Lead and nurture the Pricing and Contracting team, cultivating both technical skills and strategic decision-making acumen. Implement development plans and succession strategies to ensure team readiness for market changes. Promote a collaborative culture centered on high performance, accountability, and continuous improvement. Qualifications Experience & Expertise At least 10 years of experience in U.S. Market Access, demonstrating strong leadership in pricing and contracting. Extensive knowledge of U.S. pricing, contracting, and reimbursement, covering various channels. Solid understanding of government pricing and compliance regulations. Proven experience in crafting long-term pricing strategies with cross-functional implementation. Strong financial acumen, specifically in GTN forecasting and modeling. Ability to translate complex scientific and clinical data into effective pricing strategies. Leadership & Skills Outstanding strategic thinking and communication skills. Proficiency in leading and aligning teams with and without direct authority. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to navigate complex situations. High emotional intelligence and a results-focused, adaptable mindset. Advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint. Education Required: Bachelor's degree. Preferred: MBA or another postgraduate degree. Compensation Salary range: Minimum $249,973.00 - Maximum $388,125.00, plus an incentive opportunity. Actual pay will reflect the candidate's experience, skills, and internal equity.
