We are currently looking for a: Kennywood - Electrician Assistant Roles & Responsibilities: The Electrician Assistant provides support to the maintenance team to ensure a successful park operation. This position is guest facing and also has consistent interaction with all team members in order to complete tasks in a timely manner. Roles & Responsibilities: Assist with repair and maintenance of park property. Assist in helping manage the daily electrical maintenance of the rides, attraction, food stand, stages, and CCTV throughout facility. Assist the full time Electrician team members with maintenance and clean-up for assigned electrical jobs. Maintain all storage areas, shops, and mechanical areas in a clean, safe, organized, and secure manner Maintain compliance with company and industry best practices, policies, and procedures to create a safe environment for colleagues and guests Assist all other Maintenance and trades team members with completing maintenance projects Promptly notify maintenance and/or park leadership of any escalated maintenance issues or safety hazards Perform duties in other areas or departments of the park, as requested Safely operate company owned trucks, forklifts, and other equipment, as needed Safely and effectively utilize standard electrical maintenance equipment and hand tools, vehicles, hydraulic benders, ladders and scaffolding, electrical testing equipment, welding equipment, torches, park rides, telephone, hand-held two-way radio, and manlift/forklift All other duties and projects assigned by Maintenance or Park leadership Education and Experience: High School diploma or equivalent preferred; Equivalent work experience will also be considered Vocational, Trade school, or other technical certification is a plus 1+ years of previous work experience in a maintenance, electrical, or related role preferred, but not required Language: Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English; Spanish or other bilingual language skills are a plus. Requirements: Must be at least 18 years of age to comply with Pennsylvania Child Labor Laws Ability to work flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, open to close Must have reliable transportation to and from work for your scheduled shift Must possess a valid driver's license and a good driving record Must be safety conscious and adhere to all safety protocols, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when required. Ability to interact with other team members, guests, contractors, and suppliers in a positive, professional manner Willingness to learn more and become an expert of the electrician trade Ability to troubleshoot clearly, calmly, accurately, and safely in the presence of guests and fellow team members. Ability to read and comprehend ride maintenance manuals, blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings A general understanding of standard maintenance practices and procedures for electrical, carpentry, and plumbing trades, a plus Previous experience with welding and soldering techniques, a plus Ability to follow direction, multi-task, and work as part of a team as well as independently Physical Requirements: Ability to stand, walk, and remain on feet for extended periods of time during the day Ability to frequently stoop, twist, kneel, bend, squat, or reach above shoulders Ability to carry, push, pull, lift, and hold objects weighing 100 pounds or more Ability to work in awkward positions which can cause physical discomfort and strain Ability to work in all non-conventional areas of the property, including in confined spaces or above ground-level, on scaffolds, ladders, and manlifts Ability to consistently use hands to grasp, control, move objects/tools Ability to see differences between colors and brightness Ability to see details of objects that are more than a few feet away Working Conditions: Frequent interaction with all outdoor and indoor areas of the park Frequent exposure to the variable outside temperatures, including high heat, cold, direct sun, humidity, dust, rain, snow, ice, and other weather conditions Frequent exposure to electrical currents and high voltage electricity Subject to working at significant heights, reaching over 100 feet above ground level Subject to constant repetitive motion, very high noise levels, vibrations, machinery, motorized equipment, and vehicles Subject to the handling of and exposure to dust, dirt, grease, oils, chemicals, detergents, and cleaners Team member benefits: Working at Kennywood is about making people happy!
