Qualifications Licensure is required in most states. Certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiation Therapy. Current CPR Certification. Key Responsibilities The primary role of the Radiation Therapist is to administer therapeutic radiation doses for cancer treatment. Engage with patients to discuss their treatment plans in collaboration with clinical oncologists and physicians. Determine the appropriate dosage and targeted area for radiation therapy. Educate patients about the potential side effects of radiation treatment and effective management strategies. Deliver precise radiotherapy treatments safely. Operate specialized medical equipment for radiotherapy. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and best practice guidelines. Provide quality, cost-effective patient care with compassion and professionalism. Maintain a patient-focused environment, delivering timely and excellent care. Promote a safe workplace for staff and patients, adhering to national patient safety initiatives. Keep accurate records of patient treatment plans.
