Description Conduct thorough evaluations of patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics utilizing standardized assessments accompanied by keen observational skills. Craft tailored treatment plans that cater to both immediate objectives and longer-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing requirements. Deliver individualized speech therapy sessions emphasizing language, communication, fluency, voice, and swallowing capabilities. Engage in a collaborative approach with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nursing staff, physicians, caregivers, and family members to formulate cohesive strategies for patient care. Provide educational resources to patients and families to reinforce progress during non-clinical hours. Participate in occasional inpatient speech therapy assessments and interventions, ensuring a seamless continuum of care through each stage of treatment. Keep meticulous records that abide by state, federal, and organizational regulations. Pursue ongoing education and professional development by staying abreast of current advancements in the field. Education Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution. Completion of a clinically supervised Fellowship Year (CFY) is required if not ASHA-certified. Certifications Current state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist. Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is preferred. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment. Skills Expertise in utilizing evidence-based treatment methods appropriate for all age groups, displaying a solid understanding of both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders. Strong interpersonal skills, adept at fostering relationships with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
