KPMG is seeking a dynamic Engineering Director to lead our Tax Ignition Team with the flexibility of a hybrid work environment. Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement long-term roadmaps and technical strategies for large-scale projects, utilizing cloud services, microservices, frontend frameworks, and AI/ML integrations. Act as the main liaison between business stakeholders, enterprise architects, security officers, and product leaders to establish project priorities, scopes, and budgets. Oversee end-to-end program delivery; lead design reviews, enforce best practices (including infrastructure as code, containerization, and API standards), and validate proofs of concept for new technologies like LLM fine-tuning. Recruit, mentor, and foster a high-performing engineering team (including full-stack, data science, and DevOps professionals), creating clear pathways for career growth and promoting a culture of continuous learning. Collaborate closely with security and risk teams to embed security-by-design principles, ensuring compliance through threat modeling, automated security scans, and penetration testing. Uphold integrity, professionalism, and accountability to enhance KPMG's respectful workplace environment. Qualifications: A minimum of ten years of software engineering experience and at least five years in a leadership role; demonstrated success in managing complex enterprise programs on Azure. A Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field is preferred; a Master's degree is highly desirable. Extensive experience with Python, .NET (Framework/Core), C#, PowerShell, Angular, TypeScript, and familiarity with LLM fine-tuning and DevOps/CICD practices. Exceptional communication skills, with a proven ability to present to executive leadership and translate business needs into effective technical solutions; an entrepreneurial mindset that thrives in uncertain environments. In-depth understanding of software engineering principles, including microservices architecture and RESTful APIs, with hands-on experience building enterprise systems. Outstanding Python skills and familiarity with ML frameworks, coupled with strong analytical abilities, are essential. Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the requirement for employment-based visa sponsorship.
