Job Summary: Scotty's Contracting and Stone is seeking an experienced CDL Driver / Heavy Equipment Operator to join our Heavy Civil Division. Your role will involve operating large construction equipment to support job site operations, including transporting materials, equipment, and supplies to and from job sites. You will be an essential part of our team, utilizing equipment such as Loaders, Backhoes, Track Hoes, Haul Trucks, and Water Trucks. Key Responsibilities: Safely and efficiently operate construction equipment. Follow all safety regulations and protocols to minimize risks. Take directions from the crew leader for assigned tasks. Perform minor maintenance and report major issues to the Foreman and Shop Manager. Stay aware of site conditions and promptly report hazards. Foster positive relationships with co-workers through respect and teamwork. Complete necessary documentation as per company standards. Be prepared to work outdoors in various weather conditions. Execute other physical tasks as needed to maintain job site operations. Qualifications: Must have a valid CDL. At least three years of relevant experience. Valid driver's license with a clean motor vehicle report. Strong safety awareness and adherence to protocols. A collaborative team player. Physical Requirements: Climbing: Ability to safely climb in and out of equipment exceeding 10 feet high. Heights: Comfort and capability to work at heights greater than 10 feet. Balance: Ability to stand and walk on slick and uneven surfaces. Vision: Corrected vision to identify safety hazards. Hearing: Corrected hearing to comprehend verbal warnings and instructions. Awkward positions: Ability to transition between sitting and kneeling positions. Heavy lifting: Capable of lifting items up to 50 lbs. and up to 100 lbs. with assistance. Conditions: Work primarily outdoors with exposure to varying weather and construction site challenges. Work Environment: This position involves performing mostly outdoor work in various conditions. A strong physical stamina is necessary, as the role includes prolonged standing, climbing, and bending. Repeatedly entering and exiting large equipment is an essential part of this job, with regular exposure to noise, dust, and heavy machinery.
