About the Role A ForMotion Practitioner Assistant supports the delivery of patient care within an O&P clinical setting by assisting with clinical procedures, documentation, device repair, inventory management, and exam room readiness. This role works closely with certified clinicians to support patient appointments and ensure the clinic runs efficiently. The ideal candidate is detail oriented, highly organized, and committed to providing exceptional service to patients and the clinical team. What You'll Do Assist clinicians with patient intake, evaluations, and fittings. Support patient care by helping with prosthetic fittings, providing education on device use and care, and managing follow-up coordination. Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic medical records (EMR), including documentation of services, device repairs, and patient communications. Gather patient measurements and assist in casting or scanning processes under supervision. Order, receive, and track components, accessories, and materials used for fabrication and repairs. Perform minor device repairs and maintenance in accordance with clinician instructions. Stock and clean exam rooms and ensure readiness for each patient appointment. Assist in managing clinic inventory and organizing clinical supplies. Adhere to safety protocols and infection control standards to ensure a clean and compliant environment. Support lab operations by using basic tools and machines for light fabrication or adjustments as needed. Perform additional duties as assigned by the manager. Basic understanding of medical terminology and documentation. Ability to travel locally or regionally, as required. Preferred Qualifications: Experience as a medical assistant, physical therapy aide, or technician in an O&P or DME setting. Familiarity with orthotic/prosthetic components or experience in fabrication labs is a plus. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact compassionately with patients and team members. It involves frequent interaction with patients, clinicians, and technical staff. Routine use of standard office and lab equipment is expected, including computers, phones, grinders, ovens, routers, and hand tools. Regularly required to stand, walk, squat, bend, and reach. Use of hands for handling tools and equipment. Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds. Occasional pushing/pulling or climbing ladders or steps.
