Job Description

The NDT Technician conducts Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) on aircraft airframes, engines and components using techniques involving visual, magnetic particle, ultrasonic, dye penetrant, eddy current and other methods of inspection according to customer expectations, manufacturer's or industry specifications, and Duncan approved procedures in a safe and organized work area. In addition, this position completes timely and accurate documentation; performs as a Qualified Inspector (QI); and assists with OJT and training of team members. Essential Job Functions1. Conducts NDT tests to airframes, engines and component parts per manufacturer or industry standard specifications, Duncan approved procedures, and customer's expectations using all safety and health precautions. When applicable, selects inspection method, determines test equipment, calibrates test equipment to standards, and evaluates results. Orders parts or tooling as needed to complete work. Inspects components and aircraft systems as a qualified inspector.2. Researches, prepares, and signs off various documents for record keeping purposes as required by Duncan approved procedures, manufacturers' maintenance manuals and FAA regulations (i.e. turnovers, 8110-3's, W.O. Sheets, personal training log, and other work order related documents supporting the review squawks and expected hours). Completes additional customer documentation as necessary.3. Monitors and maintains test equipment and work area as required.4. Assists with OJT for other team members as needed.5. Performs other duties as assigned by management. Job Specific RequirementsLicenses/Certificate: Repairman's Certificate; satisfactorily passes annual Visual Acuity Exam. Must have a valid Driver's License and an acceptable driving record. See below for specific leveling requirementsAttendance: Regularly scheduled attendance required; overnight and short-notice travelPhysical: Routinely lifts 50 lbs.; reads small print; repetitive motion; works in confined spaces; works in heights above four feet; tolerates standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, climbing and sittingEnvironmental: Tolerates working in extreme temperatures and noisy environments Education and ExperienceNDT Technician IAssociates Degree in NDT Technology or equivalent required NDT Technician IIAssociates Degree in NDT Technology or equivalent requiredMinimum three years experience in NDT inspection or related repair experience required Available BenefitsMoving is expensive and hard work!
